when somebody tells you the piece of work you have been doing sucks.
accept it.
because if it sucks to that single person, it'll probably suck to 100 other people, and in turn, it'll suck to 10 000 other people, and so on, and so forth.
this is not so bad, actually, there is nothing wrong with making bad pieces of work, even though it is arguable that 'bad' is through one's opinions and is, of course, totally subjective.
but if you start harboring your ego and turn down the criticism, then, sad to say, you have just turned yourself to someone who can never achieve anything greater.
and i wont know whether that is a good, or bad result, actually,
bad perhaps... because you will never get to learn, and see the world in another level.
good, however, because i can classify you as someone i wont have to bother about anymore.
put you in the recycle bin, always, please.
i've been telling myself this for a pretty long time now.
and i've also learnt a few things from my lecturers along the way
how to look out for critics.
this might not apply in personal/leisure works and such, but i have to say, it is all almost certainly true for free-lancing.
which, i actually treat all my works with the degree of importance akin to one that i can get money for.
which i am about to undertake, in the very near future.
'when someone, somebody, tells you, that he thinks there might be a slight problem with something in your work. however subtle he puts it across to you, bottom line is, he's trying to get you to realize with your fuckhead that your work is a piece of shit because of that one error and you better fix that or you are not gonna get paid.'
is up to you whether you wanna learn, or not, ' whoop?'
i'm not a great artist myself, maybe thats why i'll humble myself down to clean the shoes of the leet illustrators,
and even maybe when i do make a name for my works and myself,
i'll still clean those shoes, because, during the years i've used to master the skills to be a good illustrator, i'll probably have become a very good shoe-cleaner as well, and you know what they always say, Do what you do best.
